Arriving at Gare du Nord it is easier, IMO. to get on the RER B than it is to drag bags out to the Taxi stand. There is an escalator going down to the RER platform at Gare du Nord and there is an elevator at Les Halles that is right across from your hotel. From this hotel, you can go shopping in the nearby districts of Rue de Rivoli, Boulevard Haussmann or Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore. There are also escalators at Les Halles to the street. Beyond that blunder, Novotel Paris les Halles is pretty much perfect.
